September 29, 2008 Groundbreaking Video Thank you to everyone who attended our Ground Breaking Ceremony on Sunday, September 28. Thank you also to all who have supported the ministries at University UMC and the Wesley Foundation over the years. Below, you will find a video of the highlights of the ceremony.
September 15, 2008 Foundation Ready for Groundbreaking The three blocks at University Ave. and NW13th St. have been seeded, and the grass has grown in very well. Our lot is all prepared for our big Groundbreaking Ceremony on September 28 at 5 pm.
August 4, 2008 Foundation Demolition Completed The clearing of the first block has been completed, which means that when all of the permits have been cleared by the city, we will be able to start on the new foundation!
June 30, 2008 Foundation Demolition Has Begun At the end of last week, the demolition of the foundation began. This is the first step in preparing the site for our new construction.
June 9, 2008 Contracts signed, awaiting site plan Today, the Sherer contracts were signed and submitted. We are now awaiting the completion and approval of our site plan before the final site clean-up can begin, making way for full construction.
May 20, 2008 Building Sign Up This morning, the sign for Scherer Construction went up on the corner. There were also some utility workers looking around the site this morning, so while nothing more is being torn up or rebuilt yet, it is exciting to see some action! May 5, 2008 Thank you, PDCSCers! With another school year in the books, now is a perfect time to offer our most sincere and heartfelt thanks to the students and staff of the Presbyterian/Disciples of Christ Student Center (PDCSC), and specifically to their campus minister, Rev. David Dean. As we have been without our own facilities for over two years now, they have shown great hospitality in allowing us to use their space (which is also home to Burrito Bros. and Apartment Hunters). Thank you for your friendship, partnership in ministry, and patience!
